I wonder if you could have avoid surgery by following a more paleo diet and supplementing with vitamin K2, vitamin D, and magnesium. Nonetheless, best of luck.

  13. Patrick Boyle says:

Do what the doctors say and you will be alright. Your cohort survival rate is not all that much effected by a bypass operation. You have to die sometime of course, but a heart attack of some sort is a better way to go than most. That should be years and years from now. You will be back to work soon enough. I doubt if this will make you more mellow.

I had my heart incident when I was about your age ten years ago. Having a bad heart these days while in your sixties is not much of an inconvenience. I’m not as athletic as I once was, but otherwise there has been little change. After the crisis period you just have to take a lot of pills. That’s the real bummer.

  14. spare armadillo says:

Have you shopped around for the best deal on this?
My brother is a heart surgeon (Really!), and he’s running a special next month.
Anyway, best wishes for a speedy recovery.
(And I was just kidding about the special, but I’d highly recommend him if you want one of the best.)

CABG is invasive surgery, and tolerating it would not be trivial for a twenty-year-old, let alone the people who actually have coronary artery disease. I’m glad that your recovery has gone well so far, and warm wishes that everything continues so well!

I add my best wishes to both G and H belatedly albeit with all possible warmth. Give your doctors hell, your nurses chocolate, your loved ones hugs, your ancestors thanks…and strive to be an outlier in this as in so many other things.
